Torture is easy...it's comedy that's hard

A Tibetan monk displays his personal collection of electro-shock devices.
"Pain is my Zen Master." Says monk.

So yesterday 9 Senators gave varying lame reasons for not being against torture.

Defying the White House, senators voted 90-9 to approve an amendment that would prohibit the use of "cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment" against anyone in U.S. government custody, regardless of where they are held.
Here is a list of the 9 ass-kickers who will probably get medals:
Wayne Allard - Colorado
Kit Bond - Missouri
Tom Coburn - Oklahoma
Thad Cochran - Mississippi
John Cornyn - Texas
James Inhofe - Oklahoma
Pat Roberts - Kansas
Jeff Sessions - Alabama
Ted Stevens - Alaska
Wouldn't it be neat to have them on a news show being interviewed and being asked questions by the reporter like "Have you stopped beating your wife?" or "Is the sky blue?" and then hitting them in the crotch with a cattle-prod until they give the answer we are looking for that day?

Think they would change their vote after that?

We are supposed to be better than the bad guys. That is one of the historic public perceptions that America took with them out of WW2. Now, I know that dirty tricks ocurr in any cold or hot war and I'm fine with that as long as it remains in certain limited arenas. As Super-Chicken says, "You knew the job was dangerous when you took it, Fred."

But to make it Government policy on a public level, well, that's just wrong. Keep it in the Spy vs Spy games where it belongs. If some agent gets nabbed and 'questioned', well, in the words of the reigning Master of Sinanju, "That's the biz, sweetheart."

By the way, as you can tell I have no problem with forming National and Foreign policies based on cartoons and serialized adventure novels.
