You know, those exact same helmets popped up in the low-budget sci-film "12 to the Moon", that was one of the funnier MST3K episodes.

From what I remember the helmets didn't have glass faceplates, and they handwaved this in the film by saying that they had a special force field. (Crow replies with "and now I'm activating my wings and I'll fly!").
You have to have a space helmet to complete the suit.
Both of these are from the Captain Company. Wasn't that Jim "Creepy" Warren's outfit?
