The Humiliation of Batgirl

In the spirit of continuing the much-needed Outrage Week Awareness Month in the Comic-blogosphere, I present the marginalization and humiliation that the always kick-ass Barbara Gordon Batgirl had to endure in the 1960's just to compete with the boys.

As if the fanboy drool-inducing costumes of female Super-heroes aren't bad enough, even Batgirl's Bat-cycle has to have dainty lace and fringe on it.

It is a well-established fact that Batgirl had to beat up twice the thugs to be considered half the vigilante among her male peers.
