One of the many "3-Fer" hits to Hal Jordan's head that appear in the Green Lantern series. There are almost too many to count.
Guy Gardner went insane and violent after getting just one telepathic smack in the head by Sinestro. Going by that, a big yellow space bug was hardly necessary to make Hal become Parallax as he has received more than enough brain damage over the years that it's amazing he hasn't turned into the Anti-Monitor.
- Part of the Hal Jordan Head Injury Project, from Green Lantern #65 (v2, December 1968).

ReplyDeleteAnd didn't that one punch by Batman turn him into "Nice Guy" for a dozen issues or so?
I tell ya. First thing I'd do if I had a magic wishing ring was tell it "Ring? If anything or anybody tries to violently hit me, put up a force field, m'kay?"
That's the difference between Hal and Guy and Kyle. Hal is an engineer and pilot. He's the kind of dude that would spend countless hours programming all kinds of tweaks and failsafes into the ring.
ReplyDeleteGuy just bulldozes ahead, trusting in his ability to kick ass. And Kyle...well, Kyle is a dumbass who never event thought to tell his ring not to be removed against his will.
